I recently taught an Elders Quorum lesson based on President Nelson’s April 2019 General Conference Priesthood Session talk entitled “We Can Do Better and Be Better.” President Nelson remarked that “when Jesus asks you and me to ‘repent,’ He is inviting us to change our mind, our knowledge, our spirit – even the way we breath. He is asking us to change the way we love, think, serve, spend our time, treat our [spouses], teach our children, and even care for our bodies.”
While The Arizona Beehive, LLC is a recognizably for-profit company which produces a product six times a year that is consumed by readers and funded by advertising, the purpose of the publication is much greater than its worldly character conveys.
As we lovingly create each issue, our Editor and team of amazing writers interview, research and ponder each editorial subject, and then they connect with people, places and businesses to generate the articles they write. Each article must be of interest or importance to our audience of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be included in the magazine. Our purpose, our mission, is to create content that truly uplifts the Saints.
How are we Saints uplifted? We consume word and thoughts, things and experiences that positively, purposely and intentionally “change the way we love, think, serve, and spend our time.” We learn, explore and practice how to better treat our spouses and our bodies. We gain eternal knowledge that changes the way we think, which in turn fortifies our spirits.
Sharing such learned spiritual lessons as we “diligently [move] along the covenant path” assists us on our journey to become more like Christ. I visited with a reader recently who shared with me that she leaves a copy of The Arizona Beehive with her Ministering sisters. While humbled by this marvelous idea, it also motivates me to ensure that The Arizona Beehive remains “member of the Church” sharable, and valuable enough to share amongst the Saints.
This is our commitment to you. Thank you for reading and sharing The Arizona Beehive…
