Coming from Provo, Utah, with little more than fairly unpolished talent, a lot of practice hours and a desire to have a memorable experience one summer—The Duttons have transitioned to major players in the entertainment industry.

Now with three generations of world class performers, The Duttons will celebrate what they say will be their “most exciting year ever,” kicking off their 25th year as full-time professional performers by bringing their award-winning shows to the Dutton Theater in Mesa, Arizona, for the 2015–2016 season.

The season opens with their award-winning Christmas show Friday, December 11, and will continue with four different shows, one featured each month, until the season finale April 2, 2016.

To make it their most memorable yet, in addition to new, live performances in the Mesa theater and at The Dutton Theater Complex in Branson, Missouri, The Duttons will release two television specials and will participate in their biggest outreach program ever, partnering with Operation Welcome Home AZ/AZ Wall Project.

According to Sheila, the Dutton family matriarch, they never could have foreseen all this in 1991, when her husband, Dean, took a semester leave from teaching economics at Brigham Young University to take their young family to give 29 concerts throughout Europe, appear on Europe’s largest television network, and then perform what was projected to be two weeks of concerts in the United States.

“We envisioned it being an experience that our children would remember the rest of their lives. Little did we know that our lives would be changed forever,” Sheila says.

To the Duttons’ surprise, 111 concerts were sold in the United States, primarily in the Midwest and Southeast.

“We did not go home for nine months, and … we have not stopped performing since,” Sheila says. They quickly learned what the performing lifestyle would be like. During that initial nine months, after Dean’s leave, he returned to his responsibilities at the University and flew to different locations to join the family’s shows on weekends.

Since that time, The Duttons have completed four additional European tours and starred in four international television specials. They have driven millions of miles performing thousands of concerts, including in every U.S. state and in most of the Canadian provinces.

“We have given more than 7,500 shows,” says oldest son, Timothy, now a father of teenagers himself. “Simply surviving all that is a reason to celebrate our Silver Anniversary!”

Winners of countless awards in Branson, The Duttons were selected to record the theme song for the United Nations’ International Year of the Family and were Top Ten Finalists on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

As a way to give back, they have partnered with Operation Welcome Home AZ to bring attention and financial support to the AZ Vietnam Wall Project.

“We selected this project, because we love and honor our veterans, and because we want to give back in a big way for the past 25 blessed years. Our lives are full of sweet memories of exchanges with veterans, who we always honor at our shows,” says Amy Dutton Arambulo, show director.

Throughout the Arizona show season, show tickets can be purchased from The Arizona Wall Project, at www.azwallproject.com, and 100 percent of proceeds will go to the project.

“You can also contact AZ Wall Project to sponsor a veteran and their family to see the Duttons Show,” Amy says.

“We are excited about this anniversary year, and we invite everyone to celebrate with us,” says Jonathan Dutton. To do so, he says, “Come to live show, give a gift of show tickets, reserve a seat for one of our television tapings, sign up for our fan cruise, or come and see us in Branson.”
