Horne Kia in Gilbert Continues Reputation for Quality Products and Service

Horne Auto Group has a reputation across the state for upright business practices and ethics; and that 100-year tradition continues with more-than-ample evidence in their newest enterprise—Horne Kia in Gilbert, which opened in 2009.

The milestones Horne Kia has achieved says a great deal, as within a year after opening, they were one of the top Kia dealers in the state, and, by the next year, Horne Kia in Gilbert was among the top100 Kia dealerships in the country.

What says even more is the reaction of customers.

“I couldn’t believe car-buying could be so painless,” says Janelle Emerson, a recent Horne Kia customer. “It was a fun experience to work with such a knowledgeable, customer-friendly team.”

That’s how Robert Horne wanted it when he started in the automobile business in 1991 in Show Low. His intent was to further the business ethics he had learned from his father, Gail, and to pass those practices on to his sons.

From that small start, Robert Horne and sons—Aaron, Adam, Andrew, and son-in-law Martin Jones—have expanded the business across Arizona with dealerships in Show Low, Globe, Apache Junction, Nogales and Gilbert.

Michael Housh, Horne Kia’s general manager, says their success stems from a good name and good service.

“Both names—Horne and Kia—have a good reputation for value,” Michael says. “People see the Hornes’ conservative values and the ‘small town’ way they do business, always treating other people the way they like to be treated,” and  “Kia has a good reputation for value as well. They are committed to building a quality vehicle. Their product has improved every year.”

After 20+ years in the car business, Michael recognizes it’s not always the case, but, “Here,” he says, “they do what they say they’re going to.”

Horne Kia is also “very aggressive on price,” Michael says. “All our used cars are at market or below, and that value pricing carries over into our service department as well.”

“I got a good price, and they were able to arrange the financing in a way that will work for me,” Janelle says.

In addition, the Horne Kia service department offers the full range of services on all makes and models—including brake jobs, battery replacement and oil changes—typically at lower prices than at well-known chain repair shops.

“We also price match on our tires, so we guarantee the lowest prices,” Michael says. “Bottom line, we’re in business to serve our customers and to build our business through customer retention.”
