At the annual Christmas Idea House, a newly built, 9.000-square-foot custom home in South Gilbert will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland. There, visitors will discover holiday décor, thousands of unique gifts and gourmet goodies, all for sale and ranging in price from $2 to several hundred dollars each.
The Christmas Idea House, which lures thousands each year, is the primary fundraiser for Desert Club, an all-volunteer women’s organization, which has raised more than $2.4 million to date. Proceeds benefit local charities and provide need-based scholarships to deserving young students.
The Idea House kicks off Thursday, Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. with a “Preview Gala,” including a first-look home tour, live music, silent auction and gourmet food by Robert’s Catering (reservations required; tickets are $70). Friday, Dec. 6, is the “Holiday Brunch” (9 a.m. or 12 p.m.), followed by the home tour and shopping (tickets are $40). For information and to purchase tickets, visit www.christmasideahouse.org.
