East Valley Stakes Host 2014 Singles Conference
The Arizona East Valley Singles Conference 2014, for singles ages 31 and older, will be October 23 through 26.
The theme, “If not me, who? If not now, when?” refers to the quote from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, “[Christ says] … I need someone to feed my sheep and save my lambs. I need someone to preach my gospel and defend my faith. I need someone who loves me, truly, truly loves me.”
Hosted by nine East Valley stakes, the conference includes a variety of activities, beginning Thursday at the Gilbert Temple, with participants attending an endowment session or a family history activity in the adjoining chapel, followed by refreshments by Waffle Love in the chapel parking lot.
Friday evening will feature fun social mixers and two dances.
Saturday will start with a keynote address, followed by workshops throughout the day, including one by Jonathan Decker, licensed marriage and family therapist and certified instructor of the class, “How to Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk(ette).” (See www.jdeckertherapy.com.)
After the workshops will be a luau dinner and entertainment, then two dances, one under the stars and one inside.
On Sunday, a singles sacrament meeting will be followed by a light dinner, a closing address and music by William Joseph, pianist. Phoenix native, William Joseph worked with David Foster on his major-label solo debut and continues to be in demand for high-profile musical events.
The conference will be at the American Leadership Academy, 23908 S. Hawes Road in Queen Creek. For details, visit: http://www.ldssinglesmingleandmore.com/conferences-regional-events.html
