The 2015 Family History Conference, sponsored by the Mesa AZ FamilySearch Library, will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., at the Tempe Institute of Religion on the ASU Campus.
Todd Powell, Senior Product Manager for the FamilyTree Department at FamilySearch.org, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Powell graduated from Brigham Young University and has over 25 years working in technology and business leadership. He is a native of Phoenix and the Gila Valley and enjoys visiting extended family in Arizona.
This year’s conference theme is “Putting It All Together.” The conference offers more than 50 class choices for all types of learners, from beginners to advanced genealogists. The classes are designed to help conference attendees learn how to document sources and be more effective and efficient when doing research. Classes also address how to trace your roots with DNA and how to get specific information on various ways to research in specific countries. Those who are new to family history can learn the basics, while other classes will assist veteran genealogists. Some of the most popular classes will be repeated during the day, in an effort to accommodate everyone.
Attendees are welcome to spend all day at the conference or to attend a single class or two. Register for the free conference at www.mesarfhc.org. At the time of registration, registrants will be given the opportunity to purchase lunch from Jason’s Deli. Otherwise, the conference is free.
